Matariki Day

Today at Russell Street School we celebrated Matariki Day! What did we do? Well Seed to table made the whole school soup, the Kapa Haka group put on a concert and we unveiled the Pou outside the main office! 

It was an awesome day and special thanks must go out to Nic, Rosie and Joy for all their great organization!

I think I did alright but I read to fast and made a few mistakes. I did read with expression though.

Visiting Mascots

Look who arrived in the mail! It’s Morningside School’s Mascot’s Tatty Teddy and Nutmeg!

Morningside school from Whangarei are our e-mail buddies and we are taking part in a mascot exchange with them. They are currently hosting our mascots ‘The Snail and the Whale’.

So far we have been showing them around our school and each night they have been going home with a different student.

Thanks Morningside School for sending them to us, we can’t wait to show them all around Palmerston North.

Hands on home work

This weeks hands on home work task was to measure the perimeter our bed room! It turned out that my bedroom measured 26 perimeters. Check out this video.

We are learning about measurement  at the moment. Today we had to go around the school & measure things with the meter ruler. Some things that we measured were not quite a meter. Check out the photos!
